This 4-week, 300-level language and culture course in Wurzburg, Germany is for students with intermediate to advanced knowledge of German, and is taught by German faculty from Lebanon Valley College and Hillsdale College, Michigan. It combines daily intensive classroom instruction with organized cultural activities and excursions. Students strengthen conversational and compositional skills through analysis of significant historical and current issues in German society. Class work also emphasizes practice with idiomatic expressions and expansion of vocabulary. In addition to examining various media (press, television, film, music) students read a major literary work in German. Excursions include visits to cultural sites in Wurzburg and the surrounding region, including Berlin and Munich. Language of instruction is German. Prerequisite: GMN 202 or equivalent, or permission of the instructor. 4 credits.
