This course will provide a comprehensive examination of the world's oldest and most controversial governing institution - the executive. The course structure will primarily comprise three component themes of inquiry: comparative democratic executive systems; philosophical definitions and prerogatives of executive power; and various electoral models of executive selection. Prerequisites: sophomore standing or permission of the instructor. PSC 210 recommended. 3 credits.
