(Fall; Yearly; 1.00 Credit; N,QS) Including some of the basic procedures of chemistry that are common to most of the experimental sciences. These procedures include training in basic issues of safe laboratory practices, use of common laboratory equipment and techniques, data collection and analysis (including an introduction to statistical analysis), communication of results (keeping a lab notebook, writing reports) and use of technical information and computer spreadsheets. Note: A special fee is assessed. Prerequisite or Corequisite: CH 105.
