Writers considered also vary, but may include Dryden, Wycherly, Behn, Otway, Montagu, Defoe, Addison and Steele, Swift, Pope, Richardson, Fielding, Smollett, Sterne, Thomson, the Wartons, Goldsmith, Johnson, Sheridan, Burney, Burke and Wollestonecraft.
