Description:
Through lecture, laboratory and field experiences, Physical Geology introduces the student to the processes that shape Earth’s surface. After introducing minerals and rocks, the course explores mountain building through plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanism. Sculpting of the surface is addressed through weathering and erosion caused by water, wind, and ice. Course activities include 2 Saturday field trips (Offered every fall).
