Geological structures control the formation of mountains and basins. The course emphasizes the mechanical behavior and dynamic evolution of the earth’s crust through the study of deformed rocks. Field exercises and field trips will highlight important structures found locally. Fall Break field trip. Prerequisite: GEOL 101/101L or GEOL 105/105L. (Offered in fall every even year).
