This course is an introduction to plastics as a material for design and manufacture. Through lectures, demonstrations, and small-scale exercises and projects, students become familiar with the vocabulary of plastics and plastics design. The course covers basic design principles, design protocols, key manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques specific to designing for plastics. Prerequisite: FURN 301 or IDUS 212.
