Description:
Emphasizes developing strong secondary reading and critical thinking skills with scientific materials. Exercises involve reading scientific passages and interpreting graphs, charts, maps and diagrams. Content includes earth and space science, life science, and physical science (physics and chemistry). This is the last in a series of courses in preparation for the GED Science Test and may serve as a refresher for basic skills reading improvement. Placement in GED Reading Science 037 or 038 is determined by the student s CASAS pretest score. Course content is the same for both levels. A level 038 student is expected to demonstrate accelerated progress in completing the course. Prerequisite: ABE 044 or recommending score on CASAS pretest.
