Spanish authors and literary movements of the 19th century - late neoclassicism, romanticism, and realism -as studied against the backdrop of Napoleonic influence, the region of Ferdinand VII, and the Carlist Wars. Representative figures include dramatist Fernández de Moratín, the novelist Benito Pérez Galdós, and thromantic poet José Zorrilla.
