EDU 547 - Practicum in the Secondary School

Three hours per week. Prerequisites: EDU 305 and EDU 405WI; students taking this course must have completed the appropriate methods courses in their subject area(s). Opportunities are provided for the student in secondary education to participate in subject area classrooms with experienced teachers. These prestudent teaching opportunities include individual, small group, and large group work with students. Similar attention is given to the selection of appropriate curriculum materials and to classroom organization. A minimum of 60 hours of observation/participation is required.
