ECH 3024 - Mass and Energy Balances II

Institution:
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
Subject:
Description:
Prerequisites: CHM 2210, ECH 3023, MAC 2313, PHY 2048C. Co-requisites: ECH 3301, PHY 2049C. This course is the second in a two-part series introducing the general concepts of chemical engineering and laying the foundation to establish both the mass and the energy balances of a chemical process. Analysis of energy and mass balances in equilibrium chemical reaction processes is introduced. Transient mass and energy balances are applied to chemical systems. Case studies are analyzed using computational methods. The basic principles of error analysis and data fitting to models are applied to selected examples in chemical engineering.
