Fall, even-numbered years A survey of art in the United States from the pre-colonial era to the present with emphasis given to studying the social, economic, and cultural forces that influence the creation of art. Topics explored include Folk Art, the Hudson River School, American Impressionism, the birth of the skyscraper, photography, Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, and contemporary trends. Prerequisites: ONE of the following: ART101, ART204, ART205. 3 credit hours. Satisfies ADR I.
