Emphasis on improved reading comprehension through development of vocabulary and practice in identifi cation of main idea, supporting detail, and inference. Also study of writer's purpose, point of view, intent, organizational patterns, and critical reading. Designed for the student whose overall independent reading level is at the high school level. A unit on intermediate study skills included. Prerequisite: Score of 200-219 on the reading section of the THEA or 61-69 on the reading section of Accuplacer, or C or better in READ 0300. Special Fee: $17.00
