Equipment, tactics, and procedures used in forcible entry, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul. Preparation for certification as a basic firefighter. (This course may be offered only by institutions licensed as a fire academy by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection). Prerequisite: Must have EMT-B certification and be accepted into the Fire Academy. Corequisite(s): FIRS 1103, FIRS 1301, FIRS 1313, FIRS 1329, FIRS 1407, FIRS 1423, FIRS 1433. This is a 12-week course held at Bryaton Fire Field. Two class hours and two laboratory hours per week. Credit: Three semester hours. 48 total student contact hours.
