Course includes classroom and behavior management techniques, as well as approaches to effecting parent involvement and partnerships in education. Family structure and the roles parents play in their child's education are presented. Discussion includes the differences among preventative, supportive, and corrective techniques. With a focus on creating a positive learning environment, strategies for promoting positive behaviors and discouraging negative behaviors are addressed. Students seeking secondary teacher certifi cation will be required to complete a fi eld experience.
