This course examines the selection and use of intervention strategies, specifi c types of modifi cations, and techniques for implementing individualized educational programs for exceptional learners. Emphasis is on approaches appropriate for individual differences and learning styles in the areas of reading, language arts, mathematics, and other content areas. Study skills, social competence, and vocational education are discussed along with the role of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in the development of the Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) for individuals with disabilities.
