Course focus is on interpreting as a profession. Topics include the history of sign language interpreting, models of interpreting, the process of interpreting and the Code of Professional Conduct. Application of models and theories will be practiced in class. Prerequisite: SGLG201 and permission of the department. All prerequisites must have been completed with a grade of C or better. If the student is an ASL major but not an interpreting minor, this one course may be taken for major credit. 3-0-3
