Students will learn to use and maintain electronic applications and work processes to support clinical classification and coding, apply procedure codes using CPT/HCPCS, comprehension of current regulations and established guidelines in code assignment, and learn to validate coding accuracy using clinical information found in the record. Prerequisite(s): HIM-130, HIM-131 (or concurrent enrollment BIOL&-170 or BIOL&-175).
