A critical responsibility of professional communicators, crisis communications brings all of a practitioner's skills together in situations that are both important and urgent. Students learn the elements of how to be the voice of the organization in crisis and how to create a crisis communication plan. Media skills, social responsibilities, ethics and issues management are emphasized. Prerequisite: junior standing. 2 SH.
