This course is the application of psychology in the legal system. In the course, students will: survey the history and scope of forensic psychology; examine the use of psychology in civil and criminal proceedings, including evaluation of competency and insanity; prepare expert witness testimony and forensic reports; discuss psychological impact on victims; and address the practice of psychology in correctional facilities and other interventions and treatment of offenders. Prerequisite: PSYC1010
