This course will expose students to all aspects of sound design for video productions from a theoretical and practical perspective. Through hands-on exercises students will learn how to create a successful soundtrack for a project using elements like voice-over, music, and sound effects to help tell the story. At the same time, students will engage in the analysis of sound for films and video to gain a historical and conceptual perspective on the importance of soundtracks when working on an audiovisual piece. Students will be responsible for acquiring, editing, improving, processing, mixing, and synchronizing sound for production and post-production assignments. Prerequisite: ARTM2430
