This course offers an in-depth view of society's treatment of criminal offenders. The history and administration of probation and parole in American society are discussed. Other topics include the U.S. penal system and community-based treatment of criminal offenders. Prerequisite: SO 101 and SO 115 recommended. Typically offered every other Fall semester (odd-numbered years). Three credits.
