This class explores image making as a vehicle of expression and as an integral part of visual communication. Using the Burren landscape and Irish literature as a source of inspiration, students will experiment with meaningful interpretations of form, visual languages and the inherent, expressive quality of various media. After collecting found objects and investigating the landscape photographically students will explore the notion of expressive markmaking utilizing a variety of media. Upon completion of the 5 day studio component at Burren College in County Clare, Ireland which includes a tour of the Burren, a Visiting Lecturer, and a ceil?in Kilfenora, a trip to London will complete the course of study.
