This is a continuation of the introduction to Metals I. This course demonstrates complex techniques in the creation of jewelry and small metal objects. Students will be introduced to basic concepts and vocabulary relative to each process. She will be given instruction in methods and ways of carrying out basic research, to include a design theory component. The techniques that will be taught in this class will serve as an advanced section of Metals one with an emphasis on metal casting. The metals that can be used are bronze, silver, and gold. This facility allows students to case and fabricate a multitude of nonferrous metals safely and efficiently using an electric vacuum casting machine. Satisfies: Studio Elective
