Description:
-
Students will execute drawings from direct observation of the model to develop their perception of form and anatomy. They will also develop an expressive use of drawing materials in response to the figure. The human figure will be studied as both a single compositional unit on the page, as well as a form within the environment. Students will advance through the different levels of the class by increased challenges to their technical skills, awareness of materials, and the sophistication of their ideas regarding the expressive content of the figure. Both wet and dry media will be used, and a variety of approaches will be encouraged. Satisfies: Studio Elective
