Design and create unique handbags with materials ranging from vintage fabrics to modern leathers, pre-fabricated handles and interesting trims. Students will choose up to 3 handbag styles to make and will learn how to conceptualize, design, sketch, draft patterns, and construct bags using basic machine and/or hand-sewing. Sources for fabric and trim materials, helpful sewing hints and techniques will be covered. Note: Basic knowledge of machine or hand sewing is helpful but not necessary, as instructor will provide tutorials for this and all skills in this studio.
