Based on Mr. Alzie's techniques and curriculum, Basic Hat-Making focuses on construction of buckram and felt hats, branching out into more elaborate designs and trimming techniques. Steaming and forming skills as will as fine handwork are stressed.Employed by Philadelphia's last hat factory, S and S Hats, Elizabeth Plepis has acquired extensive professional experience in all aspects of millinery production. Her hat designs, nurtured by Mr. Alzie, have been sold and exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally.
