To expose students considering a career in scientific research to issues and realities of this professional arena. Topics include the scientific method, searching the literature, writing scientific proposals, the principle investigator, approaching analysis of data, presenting results, and the publication process. This course also prepares students for supervised undergraduate research. (Same as BIOL 3951 and CHEM 3951.) Class 1. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. (Spring)
