This course explores literacy as a practice in different disciplines (science, social studies and language arts) and different contexts (home,community, workplace, and school). Through reading and writing as historians, scientists and poets, honing skills to be able to identify these ways of knowing and communicating in their students, and understanding/acting on the "theoretical shoulders" on which they stand as future teachers.
