Discussion topics include the Congress of Vienna, the 1848 revolution, the first unification iin 1871, the Weimar Republic, National Socialism, and division of Germany after World War II. Special attention will be paid to the unification process since 1989 and Germany's role in international politics. Offered in the Cologne Program. 3 credits.
