Description:
Developing strong secondary reading and test skills with literary texts. Uses of works of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and drama to develop competencies in comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of concepts; last in a series of courses in preparation for the GED Language Arts Reading Test and a refresher for basic skills reading improvement. Placement in GED Reading Literature 033 or 034 is determined by the student s CASAS pretest score. Course content is the same for both levels. A level 036 student is expected to demonstrate accelerated progress in completing the course. Prerequisite: ABE 034 Reading or recommending score on CASAS pretest.
