(3) (Prerequisite - PPE3003) This course is designed as a survey of the topics in health psychology, behavioral medicine, and behavioral health. Health psychology is the scientific study of behavior that is related to health enhancement, disease prevention, and rehabilitation. Behavioral health includes a wide variety of research and interventions that explore ways to keep healthy people from getting sick. The course will focus on the role of behavioral factors in health and wellness and how behavioral factors can be used in prevention and rehabilitation. Stress and life style factors, such as diet, exercise, alcohol, and drugs in health and wellness will also be examined.
