Students will study the physics, chemistry, characteristics, and behavior of fire, fire hazards of material, fire suppression systems, extinguishing agents, and detection and alarm systems. Primary emphasis will be on transportation-related fire hazards and the regulatory requirements associated with air, rail, marine, and highway modes of transportation.
