Study of eukaryotic genome and gene organization, DNA packaging and replication, RNA transcription and splicing, translation into proteins and how these processes are regulated. Discussion of HIV, cancer, and evolution on the molecular level. Laboratory fulfills a writing-intensive (W) requirement.Three hours lecture, three hours optional lab.Fall only.
