It is intended to provide an appreciation by the executive of the role of operations management in the firm. It highlights the methods and techniques to solve operational problems. The computerized solution of problems is used to illustrate the rapid applications that are now available to an operational manager. It emphasizes the identification and solution of real-world problems and requires the student to participate in a project concerning such a problem.
