This course provides students with an introduction to the basics of personal computing and the application of information systems and technology in healthcare settings. Instruction in the use of operating systems and software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and presentations) is presented in a Microsoft environment. Students become familiar with using local area networks, the Internet, and accessing the University library from remote terminals. Satisfies core computer literacy requirement. * All co-requisite courses must be successfully completed simultaneously in order to progress.
