Description:
-
By providing a formal definition for both theology and philosophy, including their similarities and essential differences, this course explores some of the major ethical issues of contemporary human experience. Special attention is given to ways of understanding issues which seem to oppose or are in tension with one another: science and revelation; reason and faith; as well as human concern and law. The meaning and significance of human decision-making in relation to such life/death issues as war and euthanasia are also examined. Theological and philosophical understandings converge and are applied to moral questions during class discussions and projects. Prerequisites: LSENG 190 and LSLIT 110. Open to Liberal Studies Degree students only. (Liberal Studies Core Course)
