In this course, students gain an understanding of persons with various disabilities and/or exceptionalities and the presence of these individuals in instructional settings. Emphasis is placed upon special education law and policies, historical foundations, as well as strategies for making curriculum, instruction, and assessment available for all students, regardless of their ability, behavioral differences, learning style, and cultural differences. Prerequisites: EDU 202 and EDU 220.
