Description:
Police agencies of varying sizes and organizational structures are examined. The levels of cooperation and/or friction between law enforcement personnel and the communities which they serve are also analyzed, as are the political, social, and economic forces which influence these relationships. The impact of a police culture including identity, social roles, and group dynamics on the ethical and moral behavior of police officers is also studied. Prerequisite: CJ 101.
