The basics of cellular structure and function, with an emphasis on genetic systems, is studied in this course. Molecular processes from DNA replication to protein synthesis are covered as well as DNA technology which is used in genetic engineering. Prerequisites: BIO 108/118 and CHEM 108/118 (all with a minimum grade of C). Knowledge of organic chemistry is highly recommended; concurrent with BIO 340.
