This course provides students with a study of blood types, their heredity and importance, donor criteria, blood component therapy, compatibility problems, antibody identification, hemolytic disease of the newborn, and autoimmune hemolytic anemia as well as a review of the mechanics of infection, immunity, and resistance to disease. Prerequisite: BIO 323 (with a minimum grade of C); concurrent with BIO 445.
