The individual elements and principles of art and their interaction within a two-dimensional composition are examined in this course. Historic examples of design are presented, and visual problem-solving skills are developed through a series of supervised studio projects, thus providing students with a deeper appreciation for the visual in our culture. (NOTE: This course can be taken at intermediate and advanced levels. When taken at the intermediate and/or advanced level, this course does not satisfy the Fine Arts Core Requirement.
