ART 230 is an introduction to the art and history of oil painting. The techniques of canvas preparation, paint mixing, as well as the principles of color and composition are emphasized in this studio course. The student acquires skills primarily through supervised projects. (NOTE: This course can be taken at intermediate and advanced levels. When taken at the intermediate and/or advanced level, this course does not satisfy the Fine Arts Core Requirement. See Intermediate and Advanced Studio Art Courses for details.)
