Elementary education majors learn to use oral and written communication in the elementary classroom to teach children language skills, standard usage, writing, mechanics and spelling. In addition, the course is structured to include reading strategies that children need in order to become independent readers. Students will learn the six traits writing program of ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency and conventions for the PSSA writing standards. (P: EDUC 111, 112, 215, 255, ELED 304 and the required cumulative GPA) (WIC) Offered spring only.
