Lecture and laboratory study of the properties and reactions of the fundamental molecules of biological systems including carbohydrates, amino acids, nucleotides and lipids. The properties of the complex compounds composed of these basic molecules are also considered. Three 55-minute lectures and three hours of laboratory each week. Fall term, odd-numbered years.
