A study of some of the significant issues and projects that emerged in the wake of Kant's "critical" philosophy and in a society increasingly shaped bscientific and industrial development. Thinkers that may be considered: Hegel, Marx, Kierkegaard, Mill, Nietzsche, and Freud. Prerequisite: Any previous course in philosophy. PHL 223 Modern Philosophy is recommended
