Principles of government expenditure and taxation and structure of the U.S. tax system, with emphasis on tax incidence and the effect of tax and spending policies on economic efficiency. The effects of the public debt and deficit are analyzed. Offered in the spring semesters of even numbered years. Prerequisite: ECN 220 or 221 Intermediate Microeconomic Theory Meets general academic requirement W when offered as 333.
