This is the foundation course for first year students considering a dance major or minor. The course is primarily a studio experience focused on exploring the theoretical basis of concert dance via practice of dance technique and performance. Included are investigations of the anatomical and biomechanical principles of movement as well as the cognitive processes of learning and performing dance. Students must be at the intermediate or advanced level in either ballet, modern, or jazz dance. Meets general academic requirement A.
