This course explores justice as a critical component of the Cabrinian ?Education of the Heart.? Students examine systemic causes of social issues (poverty, intolerance), foundational texts which shape faith-based and/or democratic understandings of justice (Catholic Social Thought; Preamble to the U.S. Constitution), and examples of social movements which have utilized those principles. Practical training and/or field experience in advocacy or empowerment is included. 1 credit.
