Students analyze the social implications of female and male gender identifications. Particular attention is given to sex role socialization, mechanisms for the maintenance of a sex-based division of labor, and the social basis of movements to redefine traditional sex roles. Course fulfills Women's Studies requirements. Prerequisite: SOC 201 or SOC 215. Offered fall. 3 credits
